Call for authors! 

HTAV Publishing is excited to announce a new opportunity for experienced teachers to contribute to an innovative series of history textbooks for the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 (History).

We are looking for educators who:

• are experienced teachers of History and English (History essential, both preferred)
• are talented writers, able to craft accessible, accurate and compelling narratives that bring history to life for students
• have taught World War I and/or World War II at year 9 and 10 level
• are willing to share their classroom insights to help shape the wider series
• are motivated by a desire to give back to their profession and make a lasting impact on History education in Victoria.

Authors will receive a modest upfront payment and royalties from sales. Writing a History textbook with peers can also be exceptional for professional growth and development.

Note that the project will run from the second half of 2024 to the end of 2025.

• Name
• School
• Number of years teaching experience
• Writing experience (if any) – writing samples encouraged (a two-page narrative about an event or period in history please, not units of work/activities)
• A paragraph about your favourite things about teaching ‘Australia at War’ at Levels 9–10.
