Australian Curriculum Draft K- 10 - Feedback open





The long awaited first draft for a K-10 History Curriculum for Australian Students is now published and open for consultation.

www.australiancurriculum.edu.au is the consultation portal which has been set up to enable this feedback process.

The HTAV will be responding as a key stake holder but encourages all history teachers to examine the document and respond to it.

The VCAA will also be holding some consultations over the coming weeks. Keep posted to the ACARA website here as details become available.

HTAV Annual Conference Call for Papers

The HTAV invites teachers, cultural organisations, community groups and publishers to participate as workshop presenters at our 2010 Annual Conference.The conference will be held on Thursday 22 & Friday 23 July at the Hemisphere Conference Centre, Moorabbin.

This year's programme will include steams focused on a range to topics including VCE Unit 4 History, Australian Aboriginal, Asian,European, American Ancient and Medieval histories, as well as sessions to assist you to prepare for the National History Curriculum. In addition we would consider favourably workshops that address issues such as thinking skills, boy's education assessment and pedagogy or the use of ICT in the Humanities classroom.

All presenters will be entitled to free registration on the day of their workshop.

Call for papers: HTAA 2010 Conference

The HTAA 2010 National Conference will be held from 5-7 July at the Shore School in North Sydney. The HTAA invites proposals for presentation or workshop sessions at this event. Call for papers closes on 14 February.
